Workshop Description
Join globally recognized data visualization and dashboard design expert Nick Desbarats as he delivers his groundbreaking courses Practical Charts (four half-day sessions) and Practical Dashboards (four half-day sessions) live online. Both courses are based on Nick’s experiences teaching these skills to thousands of professionals in over a dozen countries, at organizations such as NASA, Bloomberg, The United Nations, Visa, Shopify, and Yale University, among many others. Participants may register for either course or both courses.
To ensure a superior learning experience and allow for a high degree of personal interaction and feedback, each course will be limited to 40 participants. As such, this workshop may sell out, so early registration is recommended.
Courses Offered in This Workshop
Practical Charts (33-minute prerecorded video to be watched anytime before workshop begins, then live online May 6, 7, 8, and 9 from noon to 3:30pm Eastern Time each day): Nick Desbarats’ foundational course that equips participants with the principles and best practices to handle every data visualization challenge that they’re likely to face in their day-to-day work, and to create charts that are clear, compelling and —above all— useful.
Each participant in the Practical Charts workshop will receive free paperback editions of the Practical Charts and More Practical Charts books, which will be mailed to the shipping address provided when registering for the workshop.
Practical Dashboards (May 13, 14, 15, & 16 from noon to 3:30pm Eastern Time each day): Nick Desbarats’ groundbreaking course that uncovers the real reasons why so many dashboards fail to deliver real value, and that enables dashboard creators to create dashboards that users actually like.

Why is this workshop more expensive than others?
Yes, the fees for this workshop are higher than those of many other data visualization and dashboard design workshops, however, the courses in this workshop are regarded by many as the best data visualization training that’s currently available. The courses contain many essential tools, frameworks, solutions, and guidelines that aren’t found in other courses, and are delivered personally by globally recognized expert and author Nick Desbarats to small groups of participants. The course content, examples, and exercises are expertly crafted to maximize comprehension and knowledge retention, and to quickly turn participants into highly competent chart and/or dashboard creators.
Canadian Sales Tax (HST)
Canadian participants should choose tickets marked “Canadian”, as these tickets will have Canadian sales tax (HST) added to them. Participants from other countries are not subject to sales tax and should choose tickets that are not marked “Canadian”.
Discounts

Groups
In order to ensure a mix of participants from a variety of organizations, we ask that no more than fifteen employees from the same organization register for this workshop. If your organization requires training for more than 15 employees, please contact us to schedule a private workshop.
Our online registration form allows up to five participants to be registered at a time, however, organizations may register up to fifteen participants by submitting several registration orders with up to five participants per order.
Online Training Platform
The Zoom online meeting platform will be used for this workshop. Before registering, participants must confirm that they are able to join Zoom meetings and test their microphones and speakers/headsets by visiting zoom.us/test.
Participants must use a computer (not a phone or tablet) to log in to workshop sessions. Webcams are not needed for the workshop.
